Over the years we have learnt that effective community development starts with listening! Before any programme is implemented, meaningful engagement and evidence-based research must come first. Angels applies our unique Life Chain Approach, which maps needs and opportunities across every stage of the human lifecycle – from prenatal care to elder support. No segment of the community is overlooked. By identifying which resources exist, what is still lacking, and where the greatest needs and opportunities lie, we create a holistic understanding of each community that results in effective programme outcomes.

This research methodology has been a vital key to our success in serving rural communities over the past decade! Now, it is time for us to build deeper and grow even further over the next 10 years – by doing what we can to move our country from poverty management to prosperity building!

A Call for Sustainable Change: South Africa doesn’t lack ideas or policies – we lack sustainability. For too long, we have relied on temporary job schemes and grants that offer short-term relief but leave no lasting impact. It is time to shift from managing poverty to building prosperity in our communities. In this edition, we explore the urgent need to re-imagine development by centering on education, entrepreneurial support, mental well-being and long-term investment in our people.
