Youth ARCademy Programme

The focus of this programme is on teaching young people through experiential learning using relevant and exciting topics.
The curriculum is designed to run over a one year timeline with breaks planned to match the South African school calendar. Certain holiday programmes are incorporated during which learners can apply the theory they learned, but it also adds another element of fun and adventure to keep participants engaged in the programme.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum includes the following learning streams:

LIFE SKILLS

e.g. confidence, presentation skills, communication skills, behavioural differences, let’s go banking, etc.

JOB SKILLS

e.g. dress for success, interview hacks, workplace ethics, CV writing, job hunting, etc.

BUSINESS SKILLS

NVC NQF L4, running a business, business finance, marketing & sales. etc

TECH SKILLS

Introduction to 4iR, Digital Literacy. Mobile Device user, e-Skills with VUT, basic software skills MS Office, tech support, etc.

CONTENT

The content for each learning stream incorporates exciting and relevant content:

ACCREDITED TRAINING MODULES

The curriculum offers SETA accredited training materials and experienced facilitators, assessors and moderators.

PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES & ASSESSMENTS

Practical activities and assessments are conducted in fully equipped classrooms and tech labs. 

EXPERIENCES AND OUTINGS

e.g. youth entrepreneur boot camp, eco-brick building days, corporate visits, pitch deck, job shadow days, etc

ACHIEVEMENTS AND OUTCOMES

Goals and targets are set for the learners and each achievement is celebrated to motivate, inspire and encourage the group:

Staged photographs and certificate ceremonies provides a fun platform for peer recognition and encourages achievement.
